Sean Murphy: The Most Important Rule

Morality and decency go right out the window the moment that thin veil gets lifted.  I shouldn't be that surprised though.  Things have become medieval for most.  Take last night for example.  We were on night patrol duty.  Nothing special, just making sure sentries are awake and no perimeter breaches.  That hasn't been an attempt on the herd in over a month now.  That's probably because all would be poachers have been deterred by by the body hanging and rotting away at the end of the driveway.

I guess these days you have to do whatever it takes.  No economy, no supply logistics, no hospitals or emergency responders.  Most importantly, no law and order.  There are those who make the attempt at restoring what we once called normal but, they all of their own unique takes on what that normal was.  Others, believe that because they have the means and motive that they should be the ones to run the show.

As for us, we just want to be left alone.  I mean we'll work with others.  There's gotta be over a dozen farms that we work with in order to sustain each others existence.  It's the others I'm concerned with like separate survival enclaves, rugged individualists and those who just try to make living in what remains of the old towns.  We'll work with those people provided we can come to agreement upon exchanges of goods and services.

There are others however that rather not cooperate.  Marauders, organized militias and power hungry individuals who are willing to do whatever it takes to either maintain their older world power or keep what was gained from collapse.  These people don't want to cooperate with others.  They just want to take.  I'm sure this new batch of would be rulers will be dealt with in similar fashion to the last batch.

No matter what your situation was before the collapse, now there is on one rule you must abide by.  Survive, any way you can.
